With clean lines and and a bright, minimalist aesthetic, this new construction home combines updated functionality with timeless style. The owners decided to gut the original structure, but they had a vision for a home that embodied modern, multigenerational living. Interior designer Cathie Hong designed a completely new home with two stories, along with a separate-yet-connected ADU space for the owner's parents. See how the design came together with some of our lighting, hardware, and decor.
Our hand-knotted Adair rug brings color and interest to this simple entryway, setting the tone for the whole home. In the corner, our Whitney vase provides an ideal vessel to showcase simple florals for architectural interest.
When it came to picking finishes, interior designer Cathie knew quality was paramount for their hardest-working spaces, like the kitchens and bathrooms. "For the design of the home, the owner's one request was to create something timeless that wouldn't feel dated in a a few years because of passing trends," says Cathie. "We picked Rejuvenation finishes for many of our workhorse spaces because we knew the quality and style would do just that."
In the house's main kitchen, two of our Contrapesso pendants offer balanced, sophisticated style. The opaque globe shades provide plenty of bright light above the island. On the cabinets, our Boomerang pulls and Mid-Century Peg knobs in oil-rubbed bronze add a dose of personality.
In the spa-like master bath, the high-contrast aesthetic of the home continues. Our West Slope bath hardware adds sleek function to the space, while our Canfield drawer pulls in oil-rubbed bronze complete the vanity.
Crafted from soft Italian velvet, our burgundy accent pillow brings a touch of luxury to the master bedroom reading nook.
