Victorian 1870–1950

While the Victorians’ love of ornamentation is well known, their enthusiasm for technological advancement had an equal (if not greater) part in defining the designs of the day. As electricity became more available, every well-heeled home invested in gas-and-electric combination lighting (typically, gas for everyday use and electricity to impress guests). Our Victorian Collection includes these hybrid styles, still with gas turnkeys and upward-facing arms, as well as reproductions of some of the first all-electric fixtures ever manufactured.

DETAILS TO LOOK FOR: Enthusiastic embellishment, upward and downward facing arms, gas knobs
