Our Fixtures Get Grimm

Over the past few years, several popular movies and TV shows have been filmed in Portland, including Twilight, Portlandia, and Grimm. We’re particularly connected to Grimm, now in its third season. (For those of you who don’t watch, Grimm tells the story of a police detective descended from a long line of “Grimms”, whose purpose in this world is to stave off evil, supernatural creatures.)

We’re happy to report that the show’s production has been great for many local businesses, including ours. The Grimm set designers tapped Rejuvenation for lighting, and were also gracious enough to allow us to tour the sets during Season 2 to see our fixtures in action.

Making an appearance on the police station set are several of our Ashland wall brackets with acorn shades, plus our Hood pendants. Nothing thrills a Rejuvenation employee more than seeing our fixtures in multiples – but seeing our fixtures in multiples on the set of a popular TV series makes us plain giddy.

Classics like our George pendant fixture and Jefferson flush-mount fixtures play supporting roles in Detective Nick Burkhardt’s kitchen. Both fixtures are decked out with hand-painted blue-striped shades.

Clearly these set designers understand the importance of good task lighting! As you can see, the George hangs over the kitchen island, where it can provide bright, direct illumination for all the well-acted fake cookery that happens here.

The show’s producers have been quoted saying they consider misty, moody Portland a character in the show. We’re glad to be part of its wardrobe.

Very cool! I watch Grimm all the time and love it. I will pay closer attention to the fixtures on next Friday’s show.
